Taylor is a farmer, educator, researcher, builder, and philosopher. He received is bachelors in Philosophy at ETSU in 2014, and has been doing community farm and food work since. Although he grows a good sized veggie garden every year, his particular focus has been on growing regionally-adapted perennial crops such as fruit, nut, and fodder trees. He has managed chickens, pigs, and goats (right now there are just chickens on the farm). He and Shae started an after-school program for inner city youth at an edible park in Johnson City. Activities for the children included plant identification, planting, pruning, rooting, grafting, building, foraging, harvesting, processing, cooking, and of course, eating! He brings a diversity of skills to the farm with his background as a wilderness therapy field guide, timber framer, agricultural consultant, and program coordinator at a farm-focused non-profit. He looks forward to cultivating a farm landscape rich with food for the mind, body, and soul.

Devoted to providing her fabulous girls, ages 6 and 1, with a childhood of freedom to be wild, Erin is a gentle parent who holds firm boundaries. Her family recently relocated to Johnson City from Abingdon, VA, where they ran a successful Market Garden for 5 years. Erin is a certified Rolfer and facilitator of Authentic Relating communication practices. She has worked transformational festival production in Costa Rica and Colorado, and learned from and apprenticed to a Native American medicine man for 6 years. She carries a deep reverence and curiosity for all things natural and is committed to living with awareness of her impact on place and people. In her down time Erin can be found climbing on playgrounds and exploring the depths of her body through dance and spontaneous movement. She loves to witness the vibrant personalities of children come alive in nature and is so excited to join the team at Fauna Forest Farm!

“Passion is lifted from the earth itself by the muddy hands of the young, it travels along grass stained sleeves to the heart.”
